The East Bay Regional Park District is currently recruiting for a Cybersecurity Administrator located at the Park District’s Administrative Office in Oakland, CA. The Cybersecurity Administrator is responsible for leading and managing the Park District’s information security program, ensuring the protection, integrity, and confidentiality of organizational data and technology systems. This role plans, implements, and maintains cybersecurity strategies, policies, and infrastructure to safeguard against internal and external threats. The position oversees incident response, risk management, disaster recovery, and compliance efforts. The Cybersecurity Administrator serves as a technical expert, project coordinator, and advisor, helping to strengthen the District’s overall security posture and ensure alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. The hiring pools established from this recruitment will be used to fill the current vacancies and additional vacancies that may occur during the one-year life of the hiring pools.
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Demonstrates highly proficient, hands-on experience with design and implementation of enterprise network and application security tools for identification, protection, detection, response, and recovery.
- Possesses extensive knowledge of enterprise IT systems, including system administration, network administration, logging and analytics, and security tools.
- Experienced with multiple cybersecurity platforms in Microsoft endpoint and Azure environments, as well as cloud applications.
- Experience in cybersecurity across multiple industry verticals, and experience in breach management.
- Proven ability to design, implement, and manage cybersecurity policies, frameworks, and configurations and controls.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders in both oral and written forms.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in management information systems, computer science, or a related field;
AND
Experience: Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in developing and supporting cybersecurity related systems, system administration, processes, and policies.
License or Certificate: Possession of a valid California Driver’s License is a condition of initial and continued employment in this classification.
Possession of Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certifications are desirable.
Salary : $138,528 - $156,741
