School Age Childcare Educator (Lead Teacher)

Inspire learning, creativity, and connection beyond the school day.

East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is hiring School Age Childcare Educators (also known as Lead Teachers) to support our Champion Childcare and After School Enrichment Programs at Pell Elementary School. This role is ideal for educators who thrive in out-of-school time settings and are passionate about creating safe, engaging, and inclusive environments where elementary-aged children can learn, grow, and belong.

This is a part-time, in-person role with consistent weekday afternoon hours during the school year.

Why This Role Matters

Out-of-school hours are powerful. They are a time when children build confidence, form meaningful relationships, and explore interests beyond the classroom. As a School Age Childcare Educator, you play a critical role in supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally—while strengthening family partnerships and contributing to a vibrant school community.

At EBCAP and the Newport Full-Service Community Schools / Newport Family & Community Opportunity Zone (NFCOZ), we believe every child deserves enriching, high-quality opportunities, regardless of background. This role helps make that belief real every afternoon.
