Job Description:
- Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures to provide physician with necessary information for patient diagnosis and treatment
- Prepare and maintain equipment, ensuring it is in proper working order
- Maintain patient records and prepare written reports of findings
- Explain procedures to patients and answer questions to reduce anxiety
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures
- Maintain knowledge of current trends, developments and technology in the field
Vascular Sonographer Qualifications & Skills
- Certification through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Previous experience in a clinical setting
- Strong knowledge of vascular anatomy and pathology
- Proficiency in using ultrasound machines and interpreting results
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Graduate of an accredited program in diagnostic medical sonography or equivalent
- RDMS or RVT certification from the ARDMS or CCI
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Vascular Sonographer
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
