Summary:
An Administrative Secretary/Assistant is required to exercise judgment in making decisions in accordance with policy and practices of the department and the ability to work directly with School Board Members, members of the school systems' administrative staff, as well as with the private and public sector. As the Administrative Secretary/Assistant, much of the work involves handling confidential materials, messages, and scheduling meetings and appointments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs technical secretarial tasks
- Prepares correspondence and inter- office memorandums
- Receives callers to the department, screens non-routine calls
- Arranges for interviews and meetings where necessary and handles routine matters personally
- Prepares bi-weekly payroll absence reports and maintains absence reports, professional and annual leave records
- Gives information to the public, School Board Members and staff members in reference to departmental services, policies or regulations
- Arranges conference and staff meetings
- Gives assistance in the direction of various aspects of the operation of the central office routine procedures
- Prepares reports, documents and other materials
Other Duties:
Other duties as assigned that are related to the functions of the position.
Essential Functions/Qualifications/Requirements:
Education and Experience:
High school education required plus five years of successful responsible clerical experience, two years of which should be in the school system. Graduation from an accredited business school or college with a secretarial science major may be substituted for two years of required experience.

Salary : $41,500 - $55,100
