Position Characteristics:
Under the direction of the Director of Senior Engagement & Activities, the Nutrition Site Coordinator is responsible for coordinating serving of daily meals and coordinating delivery of Congregate Meals at the feeding site to which assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To reflect in all aspects of job performance the mission of the East Baton Rouge Council on the Aging, Inc. ?serving the elderly in East Baton Rouge Parish, to enrich and enhance their quality of life through advocacy efforts, creative planning, and coordination and provision of needed services, and to make it possible for them to live independent lives as long as possible.?
- Receives prepared food from central kitchen, checks food temperature, and records on proper form.
- Sets up serving area for efficient food service to participants.
- Serves meals to senior citizens, ensuring that they are served at the proper temperature and correct portions.
- Coordinates delivery of meals.
- Keeps daily record of participants.
- Collects and counts money received and reports to main office.
- Keeps serving station and serving area clean, sanitizing before and after meals.
- Orders supplies as needed.
- Assists participants as needed.
- Performs related work as required and assigned.
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
- Any other duties deemed necessary

- Ability to train volunteers, visitors and other partners; organize programs; maintain records and prepare reports.
- Ability to write clearly and legibly
Other Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent with 3 - 6 months of experience in working with senior citizens or any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience.
- Valid driver?s license and good driving record. Personal vehicle registered and insured according to the minimum requirements of the State of Louisiana.
- Basic Word and Excel computer skills is required; and basic knowledge of other Microsoft Office Suite programs and agency-specific computer programs is preferred.
Physical Tasks
Performs a variety of physical tasks associated with the work of a Nutrition Site Coordinator including sitting, standing with movement, walking, bending/stooping, crawling, climbing, reaching above shoulder, reaching below shoulder, reaching at shoulder, crouching, kneeling, lifting, carrying and pushing and pulling; repetitive hand and foot motion; hearing and vision abilities in accordance with the physical task analysis. Lifting at least 30 lbs. at a time.
