Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating and scheduling transportation services for patients requiring rides to and from the clinic. This role ensures timely, safe, and efficient transport by communicating with drivers, patients, and clinic staff. The Dispatcher must maintain accurate schedules, respond to urgent transportation needs, and provide excellent customer service while complying with clinic policies and healthcare regulations. As a Dispatcher, you will be the key point of contact for drivers and clients, managing schedules and resolving any issues that may arise during the transportation process.
Responsibilities
- Receive and process transportation requests from patients, families, and clinic staff.
- Assist with courtesy calls 24 hrs. before pick-up.
- Maintaining a record of everyday calls
- Supporting the transportation manager by assisting with mail processing and driving routes when required.
- Scheduling and dispatching drivers or vehicles to appropriate locations according to predetermined schedules, clients' requests, or immediate needs.
- Relaying information such as work orders or other messages to and from drivers, supervisors, or emergency personnel.
- Speaking with supervisors or clients to resolve problems, requests for services or equipment
- Preparing daily work such as schedules
- Address patient and driver inquiries with professionalism and courtesy
- Coordinate with clinic staff regarding appointment times, patient readiness, and transportation availability.
- Keeping and organizing work requests, client requests, completed work requests, transportation expenses, and other information
- Handle last-minute schedule changes, cancellations, and emergency transportation requests.
- Support administrative tasks such as reporting, record-keeping, and maintaining updated driver schedules.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Time management, organizational skills, problem-solving, and customer service are required
- Two or more years of prior dispatch, customer service, or multi-line operation preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with scheduling software, Microsoft Office, and basic computer systems
- Assist with patient pickups when necessary
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.01 - $23.80 per hour
