The University of Arkansas - East Arkansas Community College is currently accepting applications for the position of Registered Nursing Instructor. The Full-Time Registered Nursing (RN) Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in accordance with the standards set forth by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing (ASBN) and institutional policies of the University of Arkansas-East Arkansas Community College (UA-EACC). The instructor will teach in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings, ensuring students acquire the knowledge, skills, and professional behaviors required for safe, entry-level registered nursing practice.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach RN courses across classrooms, labs, simulations, and clinical settings
- Prepare course Materials, lesson plans, assignments, examinations, and skills assessments
- Provide active, student-centered instruction aligned with program outcomes and best practices
- Maintain current knowledge in nursing theory and clinical practice
- Supervise students in clinical agencies, ensuring safe patient care and competency development
- Provide thorough, timely evaluation and feedback to students
Program Support & Compliance:
- Assist with curriculum development, review, and revision to maintain alignment with ASBN standards
- Participate in program evaluation, accreditation preparation, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Engage in remediation and NCLEX-readiness strategies aligned with program outcome targets (retention, completion, licensure pass rates)
- Maintain accurate records related to attendance, clinical hours, evaluations, and regulatory documentation
- Support and participate in the use of simulation technology as part of clinical learning
Student Support:
- Advise and mentor RN students regarding academic progress, professional conduct, and program expectations
- Foster a supportive learning environment focused on student growth and nursing professionalism
- Uphold policies related to student safety, confidentiality, and ethical behavior
Institutional Engagement:
- Attend faculty meetings, program meetings, advisory board meetings, and professional development activities
- Participate in college committees, recruitment activities, and community engagement efforts
- Maintain a professional presence aligned with UA-EACC's mission and values
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred
- Current, unencumbered Arkansas RN license (or compact license with Arkansas privileges)
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent clinical experience as a Registered Nurse
- Demonstrated competence in nursing practice appropriate to assigned teaching areas
- Must meet all Arkansas State Board of Nursing (ASBN) and institutional faculty requirements
- Evidence of strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to student success and high-quality nursing education
