Role Description
East Alabama Title is seeking a Real Estate Closing Attorney to join our team full-time in Phenix City, AL. This on-site role includes conducting residential and commercial real estate closings along with reviewing title searches and title commitments.
The ideal candidate is a licensed attorney who is comfortable at the closing table and brings strong title expertise along with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and compliance. You'll work closely with our team, clients, lenders, and underwriters to ensure clear titles and smooth, professionally handled closings.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct residential and commercial real estate closings
- Review and approve title searches and commitments
- Identify and clear title defects or encumbrances
- Maintain relationships with underwriters, lenders, and real estate professionals
- Ensure adherence to state regulations, underwriter guidelines, and ALTA best practices
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of real estate law
- Experience conducting real estate closings
- Proven experience in title examination and curative work
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Detail-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active Alabama State Bar membership or Georgia State Bar membership
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $60,000–$105,000, depending on experience
- Paid time off
