- POSITION SUMMARY
- The patient processing specialist (PPS) in Medical Oncology located at Spencer Cancer Center is an individual trained in registration processes including an applied knowledge of insurance coverage and terms, registration applications and documentation, precertification and preauthorization parameters, scheduling protocols, interpersonal communication, upfront collections, telephone etiquette, and interaction with a multidisciplinary team.
- POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum Experience
- N/A
- Required Registration/License/Certification
- BLS within 90 days of DOH/Transfer
- Preferred Education
- Associate Degree in Business or Health related field, Knowledge of Medical Terminology Preferred, Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding preferred
- Preferred Experience
- 1 to 2 years Healthcare/Hospital experience.
- 1 to 2 years Customer service experience.
- Ability to type 35 words per minute preferred.
- Preferred Registration/License/Certification
- Certification of Patient Accounts preferred.
