Responsibilities
- Lead the development and management of project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely project delivery.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams utilizing AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), ArcGIS, and other CAD tools to produce detailed schematics and system designs.
- Manage project engineering tasks such as technical writing, drafting, system modeling with StormWise (ICPR), and hydraulic analysis using HEC software.
- Conduct land development assessments to support project feasibility and design accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements across all phases of construction and system implementation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on land development projects to deliver innovative solutions that meet community needs.
- Manage civil site development projects for residential, commercial, and industrial clients
- Prepare and oversee the development of construction drawings for water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal multidisciplinary teams
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, maintaining strong communication throughout the project lifecycle
- Lead and support proposal preparation and fee development efforts
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to support design development and project execution
- Oversee engineering work and ensure alignment with project goals and company standards
- Manage tasks to meet scope, schedule, and quality objectives
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to monitor, evaluate and improve design and CAD processes to maximize efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.
- Establish and implement best practices for civil design standards, drafting procedures, and quality control protocols.
- Assist Project Managers with QA/QC reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and client expectations.
- Oversee project scheduling, staffing plans, and workload distribution to ensure deadlines are met while maintaining quality and team balance.
- Serve as Engineer of Record on assigned projects, assuming responsibility for technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate with Project Managers to proactively manage project risks and resolve technical challenges.
- Serve as liaison with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies as required.
- Teach, mentor, and develop less experienced engineers and designers, fostering technical growth and leadership development.
- Support recruiting, onboarding, and training initiatives for civil design staff.
- Assist the company with business development initiatives, including proposal support, client meetings, and strategic growth planning.
- Provide leadership input regarding staffing needs, operational improvements, and long-term department planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Proven experience in construction management, project scheduling, and civil engineering design.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, GIS (ArcGIS), HEC software (Hydrologic Engineering Center), ICPR, and other technical applications relevant to civil infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, land development processes, hydraulics systems, and system design methodologies.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple teams and manage complex timelines effectively.
- Effective technical writing skills for reports, schematics documentation, proposals, and specifications.
