Position Overview:
The Estimator is responsible for producing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial landscape construction projects. This includes quantity takeoffs, subcontractor/vendor pricing, and collaboration with project teams to ensure estimates are buildable and profitable.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure and calculate quantities of materials, labor, and equipment needed for landscape construction projects.
- Develop detailed cost breakdowns for materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead to prepare competitive bids.
- Compile andsubmitcomplete proposals, includingscopeclarifications, alternates, and value engineering recommendations.
- Solicit, review, and confirm vendor and subcontractor pricing; ensure scopes areaccurateand comprehensive.
- Support Preconstruction, Project Managers, and Operations to ensure estimates areaccurateand buildable throughout the project.
- Respond to RFIs, attend pre-bid meetings, andmaintainprofessional communication as needed.
- Enter, track, andmaintainestimates, bids, and project opportunities in Aspire, Bid Board, or CRM systems;maintainhistorical cost databases.
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in the landscape/irrigation construction industry.
- 2 years of estimating experience for landscape and irrigation projects.
- Proficiencywith scaled drawings, architect/engineer scales, and irrigation design.
- Strong mathematical skills in areas such as volume, area, and conversions.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiencyin Microsoft Office, estimating software, and related technology.
- Preferred: Field experience in landscape and irrigation installation.
Salary : $65,000 - $85,000
