Journeyman Electrician – Mission Critical / Data Center Construction
Location: Various Project Sites
Position Summary
We are seeking experienced Journeyman Electricians to support the construction, installation, and commissioning of mission-critical facilities and hyperscale data centers. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems in highly technical environments where quality, safety, and schedule adherence are critical.
The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial or industrial electrical experience, demonstrate a commitment to safety and craftsmanship, and have the ability to work effectively as part of a fast-paced construction team delivering complex data center infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Install electrical raceways, conduit systems (EMT, IMC, RMC, and PVC), cable tray, supports, and associated infrastructure.
- Pull, route, terminate, and test power, control, and communication cabling.
- Install and connect switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, PDUs, RPPs, and other mission-critical electrical equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and one-line diagrams.
- Install, terminate, and test low-voltage and medium-voltage systems as required.
- Perform electrical work in accordance with NEC, local code requirements, project specifications, and company standards.
- Support equipment energization, startup, commissioning, and turnover activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical installation issues while maintaining project schedules.
- Collaborate with supervisors, project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure successful project execution.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, inspections, and testing activities.
- Adhere to all site safety requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, and mission-critical operational standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent certification where required by state or local regulations.
- Minimum 3-5 years of commercial, industrial, or mission-critical electrical construction experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Experience with conduit bending, cable installation, and equipment terminations.
- Ability to safely operate common electrical and construction tools.
- Strong understanding of construction safety practices.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and travel as project needs require.
- Ability to pass background screening, drug testing, and site-specific access requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous data center, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, utility, or other mission-critical construction experience.
- Experience with: Medium-voltage distribution systems, Generator installations, UPS systems, Switchgear and switchboards, Grounding and bonding systems & Battery energy storage systems (BESS)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- NFPA 70E training and certification.
- Equipment startup and commissioning experience.
