About Us: Earth & Sea Fish Market is a locally-owned wholesale seafood operation bringing the freshest seafood from the Boston Seaport to Southern Vermont, serving restaurants across Vermont, New Hampshire, and New York State. In addition to our wholesale business, we proudly operate a thriving retail fish market that serves both locals and vacationers. We also specialize in seafood-related prepared foods, including seafood chowders, crab cakes, and more. We’re passionate about providing our community with top-quality, fresh seafood and are looking to expand our team!

Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Retail Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, customer service, and a love of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As a Retail Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers, ensuring they receive the best products, and helping to maintain a clean and welcoming market environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist customers in selecting seafood and prepared food items
• Provide detailed information about our products, including sourcing and preparation methods
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the store
• Assist with stocking shelves and displays
• Operate the cash register and handle customer transactions
• Prepare seafood-related prepared foods such as crab cakes, chowders, and other items as needed
• Help with inventory management and receiving shipments
• Ensure health and safety standards are met, particularly for seafood handling and storage

Qualifications:

• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
• Interest or experience in seafood or the food industry is a plus
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Positive, friendly, and professional demeanor
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including Saturdays
• Food safety knowledge or willingness to learn

Job Type: Full-Time

Starting Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday; 9am – 5pm
