What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Coordinator position at Earth Grown KidDoughs?
Do you get weirdly excited about spreadsheets?
Do you love making messy data make sense? Does organizing information, creating systems, and finding patterns feel satisfying? Are you the kind of person who notices when something doesn't add up—and actually enjoys figuring out why?
If that sounds like you, we might have your dream job.
At Earth Grown KidDoughs, we make natural play dough and sensory products that bring creativity and joy to thousands of families. Behind every colorful dough and sensory kit is a whole lot of inventory, production, and data. We're looking for someone who can help keep that information accurate, organized, and useful while being part of a fun, collaborative team.
We're also growing—fast. That means we're constantly improving how we do things, building new systems, and finding better ways to work. If the idea of helping create order from growth sounds exciting instead of intimidating, you'll fit right in. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and helping build systems that can grow alongside our company.
What You'll Do
No two days are exactly alike, but you'll spend your time:
- Entering production and work logs into our inventory management system with speed and accuracy.
- Maintaining inventory records and ensuring our data stays clean, organized, and reliable.
- Setting up new products and inventory items on our website and internal systems.
- Creating and improving standardized processes for data entry and inventory management.
- Performing physical inventory counts and reconciling discrepancies.
- Turning inventory data into meaningful reports that help leadership make decisions about purchasing, production scheduling, and stock levels.
- Helping identify trends, shortages, and opportunities for improvement.
- Taking on special projects as we continue to grow, launch new products, and implement new systems.
You'll Love This Job If You...
- Actually enjoy spreadsheets and databases.
- Find satisfaction in organizing information and creating efficient systems.
- Like solving little puzzles when numbers don't match.
- Can switch between working independently and collaborating with a fun team.
- Have strong attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture.
- Enjoy making processes better instead of just following them.
- Adapt well to change and get energized by helping build something better.
- Like the idea of helping a growing company make smarter decisions through good data.
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience with inventory management or ERP software.
- Experience with data entry, inventory control, operations, or production environments.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Experience with e-commerce product setup or website inventory.
- A knack for spotting patterns and improving workflows.
What We Offer
- $22/hour
- Monday–Friday schedule (35–40 hours per week)
- Health and dental insurance
- Employee discount on all the KidDough goodness
- Four weeks of combined PTO and sick time each year for full-time employees
- A supportive, collaborative team that genuinely enjoys working together
- The chance to help shape how a rapidly growing company operates instead of simply inheriting someone else's systems
- Opportunities to learn, improve processes, and make a real impact
