Compensation: $70,000-$80,000

EARTHDAY.ORG (EDO) is pleased to offer a regular, full-time position to a candidate to help grow philanthropic support for EDO from corporations, including sponsorships and corporate foundations. The successful candidate will work from our Washington D.C. (hybrid) and report to the Director, Corporate Partnerships.

Growing out of the first Earth Day in 1970, EDO is the world’s largest recruiter to the environmental movement, working with more than 150,000 partners in over 192 countries to drive positive action for our planet.

Position Function: The Manager, Corporate Partnerships is a key member of the development team, helping to meet fundraising goals for EDO’s work in the U.S. and around the world. The individual in this role is responsible for managing and growing corporate partnerships and sponsorship opportunities and contributing to the overall financial capacity of EDO.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the writing, editing, and designing of marketing and sponsorship presentations, concept notes, and proposals, working closely with EDO’s program teams.
  • Participate in and document meetings and calls with current and prospective sponsors and donors.
  • Oversee the development calendar including internal and external meetings, reporting and proposal deadlines, and social media deliverables for partner accounts.
  • Work with Communications and Social Media staff to story-tell and communicate value for sponsors and donors.
  • Track statistics relevant to corporate development.
  • Assist with donor outreach, reporting. and other daily operations.
  • Work with the Development Coordinator to ensure timely gift acknowledgements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records with the Development Coordinator in the team’s CRM systems.
  • Work with EDO finance staff on coding and invoicing.
  • Organize and communicate deliverables and deadlines of agreements with appropriate EDO staff members.
  • Steward corporate partnerships and sponsorships, including working with finance and program staff to develop interim/final programmatic and financial reports, and otherwise complying with all grant reporting as required by corporate donors.
  • Assist in the execution of Earth Day events, especially ones with corporate sponsors or participation.
  • Oversee Development interns including tasks and deadlines.
  • Monitor trends in corporate giving and travel to industry events and other networking opportunities, as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director, Corporate Partnerships and/or VP of Development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a fundraising, development, or corporate engagement role.
  • Experience and interest in conservation issues and a nonprofit environment preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing, editing, and telephone communication.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in common office procedures and software, including Microsoft 365 and Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and donor tracking.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment with a wide range of people, work well under pressure, and adapt to changing situations.
  • Ability to work independently, managing a variety of projects and tasks effectively, with minimal oversight, in a hybrid/remote environment.
  • Ability to represent the EDO with diverse partners and funders in a clear and professional manner through excellent written and oral communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build relationships by communicating the EDO mission and discussing EDO programs and projects with professionalism, enthusiasm, passion, candor, and nuance.
  • Ability to travel to meet with prospects and donors as needed.
  • Ability to occasionally work during the weekend or evening.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • A commitment to the mission of EDO, ethical fundraising principles and DEI principles.

Location: The position will work from EDO’s Washington D.C. office (hybrid).

Compensation: EDO offers compensation commensurate with skills and experience and will include a competitive benefits package. Salary for this position will be in the $70,000-$80,000 range commensurate with experience and considering locality.
