Position: Early Learning Specialist
Salary Range: $42,500 - $50,000
Reports to: Director of Provider Quality and Child Development
This individual will be working with an energetic team to support impactful programs delivered by ELC Manatee!
The individual provides training, coaching, technical assistance, assessment, and monitoring services to School Readiness (SR) and Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) providers to promote high quality early learning opportunities and interactions for children. Assists childcare providers in understanding Coalition core quality indicators, and/or conduct program monitoring or assessments and trainings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assess, monitor, and develop quality improvement plans for school readiness and VPK providers.
- Reliably conducts CLASS Assessments of assigned providers in accordance with Coalition procedures and DEL SR/VPK Assessment Criteria
- Maintain all CLASS reliability recertifications on an annual basis
- Provides expertise and technical assistance in current Coalition approved programs and trainings designated by the coalition to all assigned childcare centers and/or homes.
- Develops positive relationships in the provider setting.
- Provides general technical assistance and coaching to identify key needs, areas of concerns, goals, and objectives to improve operations and services provided.
- Conducts and/or assists with provider training
- Specializes in specific areas of ELC quality initiatives as assigned.
- Provide and monitor required records and reports on the assigned schedule.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time non-exempt position. The hours of operation of the Coalition are 7 AM-6 PM Monday through Thursday and 8 AM-12 PM on Fridays. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in child development, special education, or related field
- Working knowledge of child growth and development, birth through twelve years of age
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with young children and their families
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices as defined by N.A.E.Y.C.
- Strong oral and written communication skills· Associates Degree, plus administrative support experience.
- Three to five years of experience in the field of early childhood education.
- Deemed qualified for employment through Level II Background Screening process.
- Maintain valid Florida driver’s license plus insurance as required by state.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Organization and effective records management practice.
- Problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Maintain schedule flexibility for occasional evening and weekend activities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s level degree or higher in early childhood, special education, or related field.
- Demonstrated bilingual written and interpersonal communication skills.
