What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Time Teacher Assistant position at Early Learning Centers of Rhode Island?
Education/Experience:
- Experience in early childhood education or a related field preferred
- Must complete 24 hours of continuing education every year
Rhode Island: must hold a High School Diploma/ GED, and participates in an ongoing early staff development program
Job Description
- We are looking for an individual that has a passion for working with children. An individual that is energetic and personable. we are looking for someone that is able to meet the needs of the students.
- Assisting the Lead Teacher with class duties: diaper changes, cleaning, feedings, interacting with infants and more.
- Supervise students and model positive and respectful behavior
- Helping students gain independence through learning
- Communicating with parents and director of center
- Must follow center and DCYF policies and regulations
- Model effective interaction with children, families, and colleagues
- Complete additional duties as assigned in a timely matter
- Ability to model best practices
- Excellent planning skills; creativity in programming and partnership development
- Excellent relationship building skills; ability to address issues with both children and families
- Knowledge of youth development principles and practices
- Strong organization and attention to details
- Able to clear all required background checks
- Hours would be 8:00-5:00 Monday through Friday
