Teacher Assistant
Make a difference in a child's life working on a dynamic, multidisciplinary team as a Teacher Assistant for the Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC), Schenectady NY 12309.
ECEC is a not-for-profit NYS Department of Education and OCFS approved school for children ages 3-5 with special needs.
Full-time teacher assistant “in person” for a 30 hour position school hours Monday-Friday
Competitive Salary based on experience
Responsibilities:
- Be familiar and support children individually or in groups within the program designed by the teacher (i.e. teaching, strategies, interventions, etc.)
- Actively participate in ensuring children’s safety throughout the day (i.e. classroom, bathroom, playground, gym, snacks/meals, motor time, all transitions).
- Participate in daily classroom preparation, set-up, design and cleaning (i.e. snack, lunch, CR activities, AAC, etc.)
- Actively participate in team meetings, site meetings, agency meetings and planning meetings.
- Participate in meeting children’s daily needs (toileting, diapering, hygiene, eating, and buses, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Level 1 teacher assistant certificate or Associates in Early Childhood preferred
- Basic Sign Language preferred
- 18 years or older
- High school diploma required
