POSITION: Lead Teacher/Administrative Assistant at Kenowa Hills Early Childhood Center
SCHEDULE: 38-40 Hours/Week
LOCATION: Kenowa Hills Early Childhood Center
RATE OF PAY: Per Salary Schedule
The Lead Teacher / Administrative Assistant plays a dual role within the program, supporting both classroom instruction and center operations.
Monday through Thursday, during school hours, this position provides administrative assistance by supporting front desk responsibilities such as family communication, scheduling, filing, and general office tasks.
Outside of these administrative hours, this staff member serves as the Lead Teacher in their assigned classroom, providing high-quality, developmentally appropriate care and guidance. They also oversee the school-age program, ensuring safe and engaging activities for children before and after school and during full-day care times.
This is a leadership role that requires strong communication, time management, and a flexible, team-oriented mindset. The ideal candidate is organized, nurturing, and confident in both educational and administrative settings.
QUALIFICATIONS and DUTIES:
- Ability to work flexible hours if needed.
- Child supervision, interacting with children and monitoring play between children.
- Ability to use appropriate tones & language with children & ability to be caring & nurturing to all children
- Establish and maintain a daily routine suitable for the children’s needs, adjusting as needed.
- Preparing, implementing & posting lesson plans containing all components of a developmentally appropriate program.
- Planning large and small group activities based on the children’s cognitive abilities.
- Implementing daily learning centers to incorporate math, sensory (science), language arts, large and fine motor activities.
- Overseeing the evaluation of the classroom program and child assessment.
- Overseeing the day to day in the program’s school age classrooms.
- Ability to communicate effectively and develop positive relationships with parents, students and staff.
- Talk with parents on child’s day-to-day behaviors and accomplishments.
- Knowledge of and compliance with state and federal rules and regulations, as well as program rules.
- Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly cleaning tasks, including snack preparation and cleanup.
- Attend monthly staff meetings and other necessary training sessions.
- Must be very punctual, and professional in appearance and demeanor.
- Administer student medications and maintain medication records as needed.
- Regular and consistent attendance is required as an essential function.
- Provide point of contact for families and staff during office hours.
- Support daily operational tasks such as: onboarding, tours, health reports, and other administrative tasks during non classroom hours.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Must be able to bend, squat, and sit on the floor in working with students.
- The ability to lift students and attend to personal care needs if necessary in special needs assignments (i.e. toilet and feeding assistance).
- Must be able to stand for long periods.
- Ability to work in an environment where the noise level is generally moderate, but can be high at times and temperatures are varied.
Salary : $16 - $21
