What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Infant/Toddler Teacher position at Early Childhood Center?
The Claremont United Church of Christ Early Childhood Center is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and enthusiastic Infant/Toddler Assistant Teacher to join our team. We are looking for someone who has genuine love for working with our youngest learners and is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and responsive environment where children can grow, explore, and thrive. Applicants must have completed (or currently enrolled in) at least 12 CDE units, including the required infant/toddler units. After completing a 90-day introductory period, this position is eligible for vacation & sick pay, health insurance, and pension. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 9:30a-6:00p.
Duties:
- Support the Lead Teacher in providing high-quality care and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for infants and toddlers.
- Maintain active supervision and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
- Assist with diapering, feeding, bottle preparation, napping, and daily care routines while maintaining Licensing health and sanitation standards.
- Support children's social, emotional, language, cognitive, and physical development through responsive interactions and play.
- Help create engaging, inviting indoor and outdoor learning environments.
- Work collaboratively with classroom staff administration to provide consistent, high-quality care.
- Keeps parents informed by filling out daily sheets and communicating child's progress.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom environment.
- Ensures continuous care of children by assuming teaching responsibilities when teacher is absent.
- Follow all Community Care Licensing regulations and center policies.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications.
- Enhances the Early Childhood Center reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Hours: Monday-Friday 9:30am-6:00pm
