Your Role as an Assistant Teacher
As an Assistant Teacher, you'll help create a nurturing and engaging environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. You'll work alongside lead teachers to provide high-quality care and learning experiences for children of all ages while helping classrooms run smoothly each day.
- Support teachers in providing a positive, safe, and enriching learning environment for children of all ages
- Assist with implementing age-appropriate activities, lessons, and experiences that support early childhood development
- Encourage children's social-emotional, cognitive, language, and physical growth through daily interactions and play
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children, families, and coworkers
- Help maintain daily routines, including meals, diapering or toileting, rest time, transitions, and classroom activities
- Support positive guidance strategies and encourage children through problem-solving and peer interactions
- Collaborate with teachers and leadership to create a strong, team-centered culture
- Maintain clean, organized classrooms that meet all licensing, health, and safety standards
- Provide support in multiple classrooms as needed to help ensure quality care throughout the center

Qualifications
- Meets assistant teacher qualifications per Minnesota licensing requirements (or is willing to obtain them)
- Passion for early childhood education and supporting young learners
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to engage with children of various ages in a positive and caring manner
- Positive, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
- Commitment to providing consistent, high-quality care and education
