Job Summary
The Preschool Aide supports lead teachers and staff in providing a positive classroom environment for children ages 2–5. This role includes assisting with daily routines, classroom preparation, supervision of children, and ensuring safety and cleanliness throughout the day. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about early childhood education and eager to make a difference in the lives of young learners.
Competitive Pay: Pay ranges from $14 - 19/hr, depending on qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in classroom activities, projects, and learning centers.
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, and rest periods to ensure safety.
- Support children with self-help skills (washing hands, putting away toys, etc.).
- Help prepare materials and set up the classroom for daily lessons and activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment, including sanitizing toys and surfaces.
- Provide individual attention and support to children as needed.
- Communicate positively and respectfully with children, parents, and staff.
- Follow school policies, licensing regulations, and health/safety guidelines.
Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred).
- Prefer candidate that is enrolled in PATCH
- Previous experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of child development and early childhood education practices.
- Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with both staff and parents.
- A patient, caring attitude and the ability to engage with young children.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
