Roles and Responsibilities
- Working through shift supervision, manage all aspects of the strap production operation:
- Safety
- Quality
- Product Quality
- Waste Reduction
- Manning
- Training
- Process
- Production scheduling
- Inventory management
- Packaging material purchasing and availability
- Resin availability and proper use by line and product specification as applicable
- Participates in the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Operational Objectives
- Develop production processes to maintain the highest level of outgoing strapping quality
- Maintain an up-to-date production schedule to optimize line productivity while meeting or exceeding customer delivery requirements and company inventory objectives
- Build a strong production team with a common understanding of business objectives and ensure accountability for meeting performance goals
- Promote development of performance culture as well as use of standard work to ensure and augment quality, cost and delivery metrics.
- Review and approve all hourly production rate increases/adjustments
Education
- 4 year college degree, preferred
- Operations Management or Technical major preferred
- B.S. in engineering desirable
- Education in polymer science or plastics technology ideal
Work Experience
Requirements
- Strong supervisory, leadership and team building skills; demonstrated success in leading operations supervisors
- Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly across the organization.
- Progressive responsibility in operations management in a Manufacturing facility, plastics processing facility, preferred
- Proven track record developing front line leadership and team culture as well as improvement in KPIs (safety, quality, delivery, cost)
- Curiosity which drives understanding for development of both product and process
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting employee health and safety
- Purchasing, inventory management, vendor management
- Preventive maintenance to maintain process uptime
- Familiarity with ISO and quality processes, especially process documentation and control
- Willing/able to be accountable for product quality in demanding customer applications
- Even tempered, calm leadership style in stressful situations
- Hands-on manager, strong plant floor presence
