Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with individuals, particularly children and those with developmental disabilities, to implement behavior management strategies and support their overall well-being. This role requires a strong understanding of various behavioral health concepts and the ability to provide patient care in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a supervisor.
- Provide direct support to clients, including those with autism and other developmental disabilities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Conduct data collection on client behaviors and progress towards goals.
- Assist in crisis intervention and management, utilizing appropriate techniques to de-escalate situations.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers and special education professionals, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor vital signs when necessary.
- Engage in ongoing training related to applied behavior analysis (ABA) and other relevant therapeutic techniques.
Experience
- Previous experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with crisis intervention strategies and behavior management techniques is essential.
- Background in special education, social work, or related fields is advantageous.
- Understanding of PTSD care, addiction counseling, and behavioral health principles is beneficial.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and intake processes is a plus.
- Experience in patient care settings, including data collection for treatment assessments, is desirable.
