Service & Field Support Specialist - Mechanical Seals
Responsibilities
- Perform on-site installation, removal, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mechanical seals and seal support systems
- Support customers during commissioning/startup and shutdown of pumps, compressors, and other rotating equipment.
- Investigate and resolve seal failures and equipment performance issues in partnership with Reliability, Claims, and Sales teams.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for seal-related issues in the field.
- Deliver hands-on training to end users on mechanical seal operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Identify recurring service trends and communicate insights to internal teams to drive continuous improvement.
- Serve as the technical, customer-facing resource for complex service challenges at industrial sites.
- Support aftermarket sales efforts by recognizing new opportunities during site visits.
- Direct experience with mechanical seal installation, removal, and troubleshooting (required).
- 5–10 years in a field service, maintenance, or rotating equipment role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude; vocational training or technical certifications preferred.
- Familiarity with pumps, compressors, and other rotating equipment.
- Skilled in real-time problem-solving and independent fieldwork with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills and customer-focused mindset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and basic reporting.
- Ability to meet physical and travel requirements (up to 75%, lift 50 lbs., industrial environments).
