ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1.  Adhere to the policies and procedures of Eagle Village Foster Care & Adoption and State of Michigan.

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for children and their families to address the issues of abuse and neglect that resulted in the removal of the children and ensure a safe and supportive permanent home for the children. 

  1. Provide support, encouragement, direction, and role-modeling for children and their parents.

  1. Provide support, encouragement, and direction for foster/adoptive families in an effort to do what is in the best interest of children and will lead to permanency for all children.

  1. Plan and implement contacts with children, their parents, their siblings, support services, schools, courts, etc. as prescribed by “best practice”, DHHS requirements, and/or court orders.

  1. Maintain on-going helpful relations with DHHS staff, Court Officers, foster parents, and parents/guardians by phone, e-mail, “snail mail”, and/or face-to-face as prescribed by “best practice”, DHHS policy, and/or court order.

  1. Complete all required reports and paperwork from intake to discharge in a professional fashion that meets or exceeds all required timeframes.

  1. Responsible for putting all required data in both paper files and MISACWIS.  Must have computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions.

  1. Represent Eagle Village in a professional manner at all times including court hearings, inter-agency meetings, or public appearances.

  1. Duties will commonly require providing services during some evenings and weekends.

  1. Duties will require being “on-call” throughout the year on a regular rotating basis, including at least one holiday per year.

  1. Working knowledge and adherence to the Eagle Village Policy and Procedure Manual and Employee Handbook including participation in required trainings and staff meetings.

  1. Adhere to and promote the agency’s mission and values in the execution of duties while recognizing and appropriately responding to the cultural differences among staff and the children and families served.

  1. Assist in facilitating communication and a positive work environment throughout the agency.

  1. Timely completion of all required orientations and in-service training and any necessary training required to maintain certification.

  1. Perform any reasonably related duties as assigned by management.
