Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on various vehicle components, including powertrain systems, transmissions, diesel engines, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive repair tools to execute repairs efficiently.
- Complete vehicle inspections, alignments, wheel balancing, and steering repairs to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems on GM vehicles and other makes.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair needs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
- Assist with auto estimating and work order documentation to ensure accurate billing and record keeping.
Requirements
- Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic experience in an automotive repair environment.
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, schematics, and diagnostics techniques.
- Hands-on experience with ADAS calibration, wheel alignment, transmission repairs, diesel engine repair, and vehicle maintenance.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive service tools.
- Familiarity with GM vehicles or similar makes is preferred; experience with auto estimating software is a plus.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately.
- Service technician experience that demonstrates a commitment to quality work and customer satisfaction.
- Strong communication skills with an emphasis on customer service; ability to explain technical issues clearly.
