Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Level Drafter to join our Denton office. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in survey drafting, strong technical proficiency, and leadership skills to guide junior drafters. This role involves preparing and reviewing survey-related drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company and industry standards. This is an in-office position.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, modify, and review ALTA/NSPS surveys, category 1A surveys, topographic surveys, tree surveys, as-built surveys, easements and form board surveys.
- Read and interpret title commitments and reports with a specific focus on identifying and addressing Schedule 'B' items.
- Address survey objection letters.
- Work closely with Registered Professional Land Surveyors, project managers, and field crews to interpret and implement field data.
- Utilize Carlson Survey (2025) and other drafting software to create precise and high-quality deliverables.
- Train and mentor junior drafters, providing technical guidance and support.
- Conduct quality control checks on drafting work to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
- Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 5 years of experience in land surveying drafting, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or Carlson Survey is required.
- Strong understanding of surveying principles, legal descriptions, plats, easements, title commitments and survey objection letters.
- Ability to read and accurately place easements on survey drawings.
- Ability to interpret and apply boundary and title research.
- Experience with ALTA/NSPS surveys, category 1A surveys, topographic surveys, tree surveys, as-built surveys, easements, and form board surveys (experience in subdivision platting is a plus).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
