Role Description The Security Officer role at Eagle Security Solutions, Inc. is a full-time, on-site position located in Chesapeake, VA. Security Officers are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment by conducting regular patrols, monitoring premises and access points, and observing and reporting suspicious activity or safety hazards. Daily tasks include enforcing site policies, responding to alarms and incidents, writing detailed incident and shift reports, and communicating clearly with clients, team members, and law enforcement when necessary. Security Officers may perform access control duties, verify identification, manage visitor logs, and provide customer-focused assistance to staff and visitors. The role may also involve supporting threat assessments, adhering to all ESS and DCJS standards, and participating in ongoing training to maintain required certifications.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in observation, situational awareness, and incident reporting, with the ability to identify potential risks and respond calmly under pressure.
- Experience with access control, patrolling procedures, and basic security operations, including monitoring entrances, exits, and restricted areas.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with clients, visitors, and public safety partners, and to prepare clear written reports.
- Ability to follow established protocols, comply with legal and regulatory requirements, and work effectively as part of a security team.
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior security, military, or law enforcement experience is beneficial.
- Current or eligibility for Virginia DCJS Security Officer registration and related certifications, with willingness to attend ESS Academy training as required.
- Capacity to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, and to work assigned shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
