We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Summer Camp Nurse to join our team! In this vital role, you will deliver high-quality healthcare services to campers and staff, ensuring prompt and effective medical attention. Your expertise in pediatric and emergency care will help create a safe and enjoyable summer for all participants.
- Must be available Monday through Friday, June 29 - August 21
- Hours: 8:30-4:00 pm
- Assess and treat minor injuries and illnesses among campers and staff, including wound care, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Respond swiftly to medical emergencies, utilizing your skills in emergency medicine and trauma care to stabilize patients until further help arrives
- Maintain accurate medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with camp leadership to develop health plans tailored to individual camper needs, including allergy management and infectious disease protocols
- Educate staff on emergency response procedures to foster a prepared camp environment
- Ensure all medical supplies are stocked, organized, and maintained according to safety standards
- Valid nursing license with current registration; experience in Level II trauma centers or Peds preferred
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and patient assessment techniques
- Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) documentation practices
- Ability to perform medication administration and basic life support (BLS) certification required
- Experience working with pediatric populations or school-aged children is a plus; familiarity with outpatient or clinic environments is beneficial
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive patient information following HIPAA guidelines
- Flexibility to work outdoors in varying weather conditions during camp hours
