HOUSEKEEPING INN ROOM ATTENDANT

PURPOSE AND PERFORMANCE GOALS

Assures the guest rooms exceed facility standards for cleanliness and orderliness, and that the Inn Room Attendants exceed facility standards for friendliness and helpfulness to the guest.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties and responsibilities for this position include the following:

• Cleans/maintains the overall cleanliness of guest rooms.
• Sorts, counts, folds, mark, and carry linens.
• Makes beds and changes linens in guest rooms.
• Cleans bathroom, replaces terry, and bathroom supplies.
• Replenishes supplies such as drinking glasses, writing supplies, and guest information.
• Straightens furniture.
• Sweeps, scrubs floor.
• Dusts furniture, vacuums floors.
• Spot cleans walls and woodwork.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets and empties and cleans ashtrays.
• Cleans a standard of 12 rooms per day.
• Reports maintenance deficiencies.
• Transfers item left in rooms to lost and found / documents the finding of the item.
• Follow all key control policies and procedures.
• Incorporate safe work practices in job performance.
• Spring Cleans: remove all the soft goods and furniture and clean under and around every piece of furniture.
• Attend staff meetings.
• Other reasonable tasks assigned by superior.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to communicate clearly with guests, customers, supervisors, and fellow associates.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS – Not applicable

Must be able to calculate amounts and apply basic addition, subtraction division and multiplication.

REASONING ABILITY

Must be able to make appropriate judgments regarding the process of cleaning guest rooms.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds. Job frequently requires standing, walking, kneeling, crouching. Must be able to effectively clean guest rooms.

HOURS

Due to the business demands of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the Resort provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any employee may be required to work rotating shifts, including weekends, night shifts, and/or overtime. Also, depending on business demands, hours may be reduced at any time.
