Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team on Mondays and Tuesdays. The hours are be 7:45am-5pm with a lunch break from 1-2pm. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being during visits. You will be responsible for performing dental cleanings, educating patients on oral hygiene, and assisting the dental team in delivering exceptional care.
Duties
- Conduct thorough dental cleanings and assessments for patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry.
- Perform vital signs checks and document patient medical histories accurately.
- Utilize medical imaging techniques to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow for the dentist.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including medical coding when necessary.
- Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and advancements in general dentistry practices.
Skills
- Proficiency in Open Dental software systems is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of patient care principles and patient assessment methods.
- Familiarity with EMR systems for efficient record keeping.
- Knowledge of infection control standards and procedures within a dental clinic environment.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with the dental team.
