Youth Mentor (Full-Time)

Eagle Ranch Academy, a well-respected youth facility located in St. George, Utah is seeking candidates interested in helping at-risk teens reach their full potential. We feel it is a privilege to interact with a teen that desires to move forward in life in a positive manner. We are looking for leaders that can be a positive example and role model for teens that have struggled with their challenges.

Schedule (Full-Time)

• Sunday - Tuesday and every other Wednesday 8am-8pm
• Thursday - Saturday and every other Wednesday 8am-8pm

Job Responsibilities

• Help create a positive experience for youth that is motivated to regain control of their lives.
• A self-motivated leader with a strong ability to connect with the youth with the ability to develop personal relationships of mutual influence and respect.
• Lead and facilitates individual and team building activities that can help individuals utilize their strengths to progress forward.
• Maintain contact with internal staff, keeping them informed of ongoing progress, strategies, and development.
• Oversee all aspects of day-to-day development with the youth and family.
• Ability to assess a behavioral issue and take appropriate steps to help youth resolve issues productively.
• Help the youth develop and maintain coping skills as a way to resolve matters positively.
• Serves as an example and role model with the ability to accept and relate to youth who may not share the same lifestyle, and respect the youth’s right to independence.

Must be at least 19 years of age; listening skills; experience positively relating to others; Reliability is a must; professional boundaries; experience as a mentor is preferred; experience counseling others is beneficial; leadership experience is preferred.

Must receive a first- aid and CPR, and ICR certification within 30 days of employment. Must be able to pass a background screening and drug test.
