Job Description:
The Corporate Accountant will possess understanding of financial accounting standards and procedures to perform month-end close activities. The individual in this position will apply their knowledge to properly provide financial analysis to management.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly financial statements for multiple locations.
- Post and review journal entries for multiple locations.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly ensuring supporting documentation.
- Review, investigate, and resolve accounting errors, discrepancies, and reconciling items.
- Review monthly trial balance and provide variance explanation.
- Prepare month-end financial notes and analysis for the shop managers and general managers.
- Review monthly WIP calculations and job costing reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Possess an understanding of finance and accounting pertaining to sales, inventory, job costing and margin analysis.
- Understand all areas of accounting.
- Grasp job costing and apply concepts.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral format
- Organizational skills to meet all deadlines throughout the month and during month end
- Work well with members of the accounting team
- Communicate effectively in written and oral format
- Self-Motivated
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment due to growth
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited U.S. college or university
- 3–5 years’ accounting experience working with U.S.-based companies, including application of U.S. GAAP
- Must be familiar with Excel
