*Temporary* PALS Special Education Instructional Assistant (Special Assignment)
White Mountain Middle School
Eagle Point School District 9 (EPSD9) is seeking a compassionate, flexible, and student-centered Temporary Special Education
Instructional Assistant to join the PALS (Practical and Academic Life Skills) Program at White Mountain Middle School. This vital classified position
will provide targeted support to student(s) who benefit from consistent, structured guidance throughout the school day, helping them access
their education through personalized support, teamwork, and a strong commitment to student growth.
About Eagle Point School District 9
Located in the scenic Rogue Valley of southern Oregon, EPSD9 serves the communities of Eagle Point, White City, and surrounding
rural areas. With students across the district, we offer the best of both worlds—tight-knit school
communities and access to bigger-city amenities. Our schools focus on equity, inclusion, and preparing
all students for success in life beyond the classroom.
About the Role
The PALS Special Education Instructional Assistant will work closely with the Special Education Teacher and classroom team
to implement individualized support and services outlined in students' IEPs. This includes providing academic,
behavioral, and functional support; assisting with personal care needs; and maintaining accurate documentation and
communication with the team. This role requires someone who is responsive, patient, and brings a
growth mindset to a fast-paced special education environment.
This assignment includes working one-to-one, in small groups, or in inclusive classroom
settings based on student needs. You'll play a key role in helping students with disabilities grow academically, socially, and
emotionally—sometimes with paperwork in hand and a walkie-talkie in your pocket.
Who We’re Looking For
EPSD9 is searching for someone who believes all students can learn and thrive—especially with the right support.
The ideal candidate will be collaborative, proactive, and confident in working with students who may require physical assistance
and personal care. Experience with behavior strategies is beneficial. Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or equivalent,
be able to complete or already hold CPR/First Aid, CPI, and Ukeru certifications, and have either two years of college credit,
an associate's degree, or the ability to pass the district’s assessment in reading, writing, and math.
A valid Oregon driver’s license and reliable transportation are also required.
