General Purpose: The Label Control Inventory Lead will play a key role in ensuring that the company’s printed packaging inventory is handled effectively and efficiently, directly impacting the company’s ability to meet customer demand, reduce costs, and maintain optimal stock levels. By leveraging data and working cross-functionally, this role will help streamline operations, enhance performance, and contribute to the company’s overall success.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Control: Printed Packaging
Oversee the day-to-day inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock is received into WMS and transferred to satellite facilities to meet schedule demand.
Assist the manager with implementing inventory control procedures, monitoring stock levels, and investigating/reporting discrepancies with urgency. Make necessary adjustments upon approval.
Assist in developing and monitoring key inventory metrics (e.g., aging inventory, stockouts, scrap program) to evaluate performance and suggest improvements.
2. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with quality and operations teams to ensure inventory needs are met and that product availability/transfers align with schedules.
Communicate with other departments when required to address inventory issues and collaborate on solutions.
Collaborate with Label Specialists to review inventory arrival dates and ensure proper coverage and space for inbound items.
Assist with training and cross-training to ensure coverage is always available for this role.
3. Process Improvement & System Management:
Identify areas for improvement in inventory control processes and implement best practices to streamline operations.
Maintain and optimize inventory management systems (e.g., ERP, WMS) to ensure accurate tracking of stock levels and facilitate real-time updates.
4. Cost Control & Budgeting:
Monitor inventory aging, liquidation strategies, and warehouse space utilization to ensure cost-effectiveness.
5. Reporting & Analytics:
Analyze inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
Provide insights into inventory issues and make data-driven recommendations for process adjustments.
Identify and escalate complex issues to appropriate management or internal teams, using company protocols.
Minimum Qualification:
Education: HS Diploma Required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience: 3 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain management, or related fields.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong proficiency in inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, WMS).
• Proficient in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) to analyze inventory data and generate reports.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, property accountability, and supply chain planning.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities and organizational skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and build relationships across departments.
Working Conditions:
• Office-based 50%/ Warehouse 50%
• Occasional overtime required during peak periods (e.g., holiday seasons, product launches, Year-End Inventory).
