Job Title: Staff Accountant

Job Summary:
Full Stack Fulfillment is seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This role will primarily focus on balance sheet reconciliations, margin analysis across all product lines, and the validation of shipping costs to ensure accuracy and alignment with contractual rates. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the finance team to provide timely and accurate financial reporting and support the overall accounting functions within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Balance Sheet Reconciliation:
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring timely resolution of all issues.
- Prepare adjusting journal entries as needed.
- Margin Analysis:
- Conduct margin analysis across all product lines, identifying key drivers of profitability and trends.
- Prepare detailed reports on product line performance and recommend actions for improving margins.
- Collaborate with sales, operations, and procurement teams to ensure cost assumptions are accurate.
- Shipping Cost Validation:
- Validate and track shipping costs to ensure they align with contractual rates and agreements.
- Work with the logistics department to identify discrepancies or cost-saving opportunities.
- Reconcile shipping invoices with company records and resolve any inconsistencies with vendors or customers.
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Provide data and analysis to support management decision-making and strategy.
- Prepare various financial schedules and reports for auditors, as needed.
- General Accounting Support:
- Support the accounting team with ad-hoc financial reporting and project-based work.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting principles and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a warehouse/logistics or fulfillment environment.
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliations, margin analysis, and cost validation.
- Knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and communicate financial data.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred:
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or similar).
- Familiarity with logistics and shipping cost structures.
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
