The technician also supports preventive maintenance, emergency response, after-hours on-call service, warehouse operations, and other activities necessary to provide safe, reliable, and timely service to Veterans.

This is a team-oriented position. Field Service Technicians are expected to manage their individual responsibilities while also working collaboratively with other Eagle team members. Operational and patient needs may occasionally require employees to assist outside of their normal route or routine responsibilities to ensure patients are served and the team is successful.

Key Responsibilities

  • During monthly oxygen visits, inspect the patient’s oxygen equipment and document required compliance information, including equipment condition, proper operation, required preventive maintenance, oxygen supply, safety concerns, and other information required by Eagle Home Medical or the VA contract.
  • Maintain complete, timely, and accurate documentation of monthly visits, patient encounters, equipment inspections, service activities, expenses, and other required reports. Submit documentation according to company procedures and supervisor directives.

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and safety inspections on equipment to ensure continued reliability, cleanliness, proper operation, and compliance.
  • Participate in the assigned after-hours on-call rotation and respond promptly and professionally to urgent patient equipment and service needs. On-call responsibilities are an essential function of this position.
  • Maintain the company vehicle in a clean, safe, and service-ready condition and maintain an appropriate inventory of equipment, oxygen supplies, and other materials necessary to complete assigned routes and respond to patient needs.
  • Assist with maintaining the Eagle Home Medical warehouse and equipment storage areas in accordance with company policies, safety requirements, and Joint Commission standards. Responsibilities may include equipment organization, cleanliness, inventory control, segregation of clean and dirty equipment, cylinder storage, equipment processing, and maintaining an orderly and inspection-ready facility.
  • Immediately report patient, caregiver, equipment, vehicle, safety, or service-related incidents and concerns to the Site Manager.
  • Follow all Eagle Home Medical policies and procedures, VA contract requirements, Joint Commission standards, and applicable safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work cooperatively with Site Management, Respiratory Therapists, other Field Service Technicians, administrative personnel, and the Eagle management team to ensure patient and operational needs are met.
  • Demonstrate a teamwork-based mentality and willingness to assist coworkers when operational needs require additional support. This may include assisting another technician with routes, deliveries, equipment, warehouse responsibilities, emergency calls, or other duties when necessary to maintain patient care and contract performance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support patient safety, contract compliance, operational efficiency, and the overall success of Eagle Home Medical.
