Position Summary

The Field Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting a team of fire protection professionals, including scheduling work, communicating with customers, and ensuring contracted and requested services are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.

In partnership with Human Resources, this position also supports the hiring, performance management, development, discipline, and evaluation of team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily activities of fire sprinkler technicians, field technicians, suppression technicians, fire alarm technicians, apprentices, and helpers, as applicable.

  • Review and approve timesheets, Paid Time Off requests, and expense reports while consistently administering company policies and procedures.

  • Schedule and assign work to ensure resources are used efficiently and customer commitments are met.

  • Provide consistent, high-quality service to internal and external customers.

  • Develop, manage, and monitor financial budgets within the assigned area of responsibility.

  • Review job budgets and investigate and document the reasons for variances.

  • Oversee the procurement, coordination, and movement of required materials and equipment.

  • Provide technical assistance, coaching, and training to team members.

  • Ensure required documentation for installations, inspections, and repairs is completed and provided for company records, customers, authorities having jurisdiction, and other applicable parties.

  • Audit completed job files for compliance with company policies, procedures, and project specifications.

  • Communicate job schedules, system deficiencies, recommended repairs, and other important information to customers.

  • Identify opportunities to provide additional Eagle Fire services to existing customers.

  • Prepare proposals for basic company services for new and existing customers, as needed.

  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels through ongoing coaching, consistent feedback, and annual performance evaluations.

  • Support the installation, inspection, service, and repair of fire protection systems when needed.

  • Ensure all services are performed in accordance with manufacturer instructions, applicable codes and standards, and company policies and procedures.

  • Provide after-hours support for emergency service calls when required.

  • Make timely decisions that support successful project outcomes and customer satisfaction.

  • Ensure team members complete the continuing education required to maintain applicable certifications and licenses.

  • Maintain all certifications and licenses required for the position through continuing education.

  • Promote safe work practices, follow all company safety policies and procedures, and exercise the authority to stop unsafe work.

  • Consistently represent Eagle Fire in a positive and professional manner.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Five or more years of experience working with fire protection systems.

  • Minimum Level II NICET certification in the applicable discipline or the ability to obtain Level II certification within the first year of employment.

  • Practical knowledge of applicable fire protection codes and standards.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to safely use trade tools and equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, plans, specifications, and shop drawings.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.

  • Strong leadership, customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, establish priorities, and adapt to changing business needs.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.

  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

  • Ability to comply with Eagle Fire’s Controlled Substances and Alcohol Standard.

  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 100 pounds.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently lift, crouch, reach, handle, push, and pull.

  • Ability to work at heights greater than 10 feet and in confined spaces.

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and travel out of town as required.

  • Ability to operate hand tools, measuring instruments, gauges, and other industry-related equipment.

  • Ability to work in extremely hot or cold temperatures.

  • Ability to work in environments with elevated sound and noise levels.

  • Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
