Position Summary
Eagle Fire is seeking a skilled and motivated Suppression Technician to join our Service team. This role is responsible for the inspection, functional testing, repair, and maintenance of fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, and other special hazard systems. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional service to customers while ensuring all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, and service fire suppression and special hazard systems to ensure proper functionality
- Install, service, and recharge fire extinguishers
- Perform all work in accordance with manufacturer specifications, applicable codes, and Eagle Fire standards
- Schedule inspections and coordinate service activities with customers
- Complete and submit electronic inspection reports accurately and timely (Asurio system)
- Obtain customer signatures and attach reports to appropriate Service Call IDs (SCID)
- Communicate deficiencies, repair needs, and system issues clearly to customers and supervisors
- Provide accurate documentation and recommendations for system repairs
- Follow up on rescheduled inspections and outstanding service work
- Accurately record daily work hours in MobilTec
- Promote additional Eagle Fire services to existing and prospective customers
- Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service and support special projects as needed
- Maintain professionalism and contribute to a positive company reputation
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, with authority to stop unsafe work
- Support other departments as needed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Working knowledge of fire protection codes and standards
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use industry tools and equipment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
- Strong customer service mindset
- Ability to adapt, problem-solve, and resolve conflicts with minimal supervision
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in fire protection systems
- NICET Level II certification in relevant field required (or ability to obtain within 18 months)
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds
- Ability to work at heights (above 10 feet) and in confined spaces
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks (lifting, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling)
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures and noisy environments
- Ability to operate hand tools, measuring instruments, and related equipment
- Ability to travel and stay overnight as required
