Retail Sales Associate Job Description Summary

Under the Supervision of Store Management, a Retail Sales Associate is responsible for working closely with customers to determine their needs, answer their questions about products, and recommend the right solutions. This position should also be able to promptly resolve customer complaints and ensure maximum customer satisfaction. Enthusiasm and a genuine passion for serving others are a must.

Ultimately, the duties of a Retail Sales Associate are to achieve excellent customer service by building relationships (both with staff and customers) with genuine conversation and personal interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Support the company culture that ensures radical customer service and high performance is the focus of all activities.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by surpassing our customers everyday expectations.
  • Assess customers’ needs to provide assistance and information on product features.
  • Support an environment that places the needs of the customer before any task oriented job responsibilities.
  • Work as a team with co-workers to maximize sales and enhance the customer experience throughout the entire store.
  • Maintain store appearance by adequately stocking and performing general housekeeping.
  • Continual training on products offered to become expert. Gather & provide feedback to department manager on new product requests to meet customer needs.
  • Comply with inventory control procedures.
  • Knowledgeable of and follows all store safety procedures
  • Peer to Peer Accountability. Serve co-workers and be willing to have courageous conversations as needed for each other’s individual development and growth.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • High school degree/equivalent or more.
  • Proven work experience as a retail sales associate, sales representative or similar role preferred

Schedule Requirements:

  • Availability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • 5 Day work week with primarily 8-9 hour shifts.
  • 3-4 Saturday shifts per month with a minimum of 1 Saturday off per month excluding key dates and the month of December.
  • Eagle Eye is closed every Sunday.

Computer Skill Requirements:

  • Basic Typing Skills
  • Microsoft Applications
  • General Understanding of Excel
  • General Familiarity with iPad functions.
  • Previous Experience using a POS/Inventory Management System a plus.

Intellectual Competence Requirements:

  • General understanding of retail customer service practices.
  • Basic Math Skills
  • Proficiency in English but bilingual in Spanish is definitely a plus!
  • Sound judgement/decision making ability: must be able to apply consistent logic, rationality, & objectivity in decision-making. Must be able to maintain an objective view of situations in order to make impartial, well-reasoned decisions.
  • Continual learner. Assesses and recognizes own strengths and weaknesses; pursues self- development.

Physical Demand Requirements:

  • Stand/Walk for long periods of time.
  • Use of hands for firm and strong grasping. Frequent use of finger dexterity.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to talk, hear, and communicate clearly with co-workers and customers.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 25lbs.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
