Farm Hand – Job Responsibilities
At Eagle Eye Farm, our farm hands are more than just caretakers—they’re ambassadors of the farm experience. This role requires hard work, flexibility, and a passion for both animals and people.
Animal Care & Health
- Feed, water, and provide daily care for all animals (alpacas, llamas, mini cattle, kangaroos, pigs, sheep, chickens, rabbits, and others).
- Monitor animals for signs of illness or injury and promptly report concerns.
- Assist with routine health checks, vaccinations, and veterinary visits.
- Provide support with breeding programs, including handling, observation, and record keeping.
- Ensure animal enclosures are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
Guest Experience & Tours
- Welcome visitors and lead interactive, educational farm tours.
- Create a fun, memorable, and safe environment for guests of all ages.
- Assist with farm events, encounters, and specialty experiences.
- Promote the farm’s mission by sharing knowledge of animals and agriculture.
Farm Grounds & Maintenance
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe farm grounds at all times.
- Perform landscaping duties including mowing, trimming, and general upkeep.
- Conduct seasonal work such as snow removal and storm cleanup.
- Assist with building repairs, fencing, and infrastructure maintenance.
Marketing & Social Media
- Support the farm’s online presence by capturing photos and videos for social media.
- Participate in creating engaging content to promote tours, events, and products.
- Represent Eagle Eye Farm positively both online and in person.
Business Promotion & Support
- Assist with farm store operations and product promotion (honey, alpaca goods, skincare, etc.).
- Help set up and support farm events, workshops, and special activities.
- Represent Eagle Eye Farm with professionalism and enthusiasm in all interactions.
Qualifications
- No specific formal qualifications are required—training will be provided.
- Previous experience in animal care, agriculture, or farm work is preferred but not necessary.
- Background in animal husbandry, handling livestock, or working with exotic animals is a plus.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to perform physical, outdoor labor in all weather conditions.
- Comfortable interacting with guests of all ages and creating a positive, welcoming atmosphere.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Flexibility as needed.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
