What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wildland Firefighter position at Eagle Cap Contracting LLC?
Eagle Cap Contracting is hiring FFt2 , as well as qualified FFT1, and ENGB's. Eagle Cap Contracting will assist in completing/opening FFT1 and ENGB task books for select candidates. Eagle Cap is excited to announce we completed our new firefighter housing and bunkhouse facility is available for the 2026 season. We are looking for workers that can work until Dec 1, 2026. Responsibilities:
- Respond to wildland fire incidents and assist in fire suppression efforts
- Operate and maintain firefighting equipment and tools
- Create fire breaks and clear vegetation to control the spread of fires
- Conduct controlled burns to reduce fuel levels and prevent wildfires
- Monitor fire behavior and weather conditions to assess fire risk
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure personal safety and the safety of others
-Complete commercial thinning units to reduce the risk and spread of wildland fires.
Skills:
- CPR certification to provide immediate medical assistance if needed. Will be provided for new hires.
- Mechanical knowledge to operate and maintain firefighting equipment
- Basic life support skills to administer first aid in emergency situations
- First aid knowledge to provide medical assistance to injured individuals
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required during firefighting operations

Pay: $34.46 - $47.00 per hour
