SUMMARY

Analyzes, examines, and researches various sources of information to determine the risk/profitability of various commercial credit offerings, modifications, renewals and existing loan relationships. Provides support to the Commercial Lending department in all phases of loan portfolio maintenance and management. Communicates clearly with the Bank’s internal and external customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Analyzes relevant financial information (credit data, tax returns, financial statements, market share, etc.), determines appropriate structure for complex loan proposals, modifications, renewals and reviews, makes recommendations for approval/denial in accordance with the Bank’s asset quality and profitability goals and objectives.
  • Analyzes relevant information (spreading financial data, analyzing company, industry, and real estate data and trends) and determines appropriate risk ratings based on customer relationships, in accordance with the Bank’s lending policies.
  • Determines compliance with specific covenants including, but not limited to: debt service coverage, leverage, collateral, guarantors, etc.
  • Interprets loan-related policies and procedures, and utilizes such knowledge during the course of performing position responsibilities.
  • Works closely with Loan Officers to manage customer accounts/relationships.
  • Maintains organized credit files.
  • Assists in requesting periodic financial information from borrowers.
  • Assists in ordering and reviewing appraisals and environmental reports from Bank vendors.
  • Takes a leadership role in credit work process/technology-related special projects, as needed.
  • Serves as a member of the Bank’s Loan Quality Committee.

POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Minimum three years’ banking experience required.
  • Developed knowledge of credit, market research, and financial statement analysis techniques required.
  • Ability to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language required.
  • Demonstrated ability to write professional, comprehensive and easy to understand business reviews and financial models required.
  • Excellent analytical, decision making, organizational, and time management skills required.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and deal with frequent change, stress and/or unexpected events required.
  • Proficient use of computers and technology required (i.e. Internet, PCs, tablets, smartphones, MS Office, etc.); Moody’s Risk Analyst and COCC experience preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing, alphabetize and collate.
  • Ability to proofread and check documents for accuracy.
  • Ability to enter words and data into a computer.
  • Ability to lift supply boxes and bend/reach to file records.
