Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Music Instructor to join our team. As a Music Teacher, you will be responsible for providing high-quality music education to students of various ages and skill levels. Your role will involve teaching music theory, instrument lessons, and facilitating ensemble rehearsals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education, music theory and a passion for inspiring students through the power of music.
About Eager Studios:
Eager Studios is a private/group music lessons school with three locations in the Central Valley (Tulare, Visalia, Hanford CA). Our mission is to provide access to music lessons to our local community and offer support to musicians of all ages and skill levels. To help further this mission we partner with local charter schools (Heartland, Yosemite Valley, Monarch River, Eleanor Rosevelt), community services (Central Valley Regional Center) and school districts (Hanford Elementary School District, Kit Carson, Oak Valley) to help us reach more students and make a bigger impact. We have worked with hundreds of students and employ over 15 instructors. We are looking for motivated instructors to join our team and help us achieve our mission. Duties:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards
- Teach music theory, sight-reading, and ear training
- Provide individual and group instruction on various musical instruments
- Conduct ensemble rehearsals and prepare students for performances
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to coordinate performances and events
- Utilize effective classroom management techniques to maintain a productive learning environment
- Incorporate technology and innovative teaching methods into lessons
Requirements:
- Proven experience teaching music to students of different age groups
- Strong knowledge of music theory, history, and performance techniques
- Proficiency in playing at least one musical instrument
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including early childhood education
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies in a classroom setting
- Experience in tutoring or providing additional support to students is a plus
