Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ health by taking vital signs and observing changes in condition
- Support medication administration and help maintain accurate care plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet individual dietary needs
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s
to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance - Document patient observations, care activities, and any incidents accurately and promptly
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to deliver comprehensive care
- Support patients with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer’s disease through specialized memory care techniques
Skills
- Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing home, or group home settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and vital signs monitoring
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
- Ability to assist with complex mobility needs, including heavy lifting and use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts
- Strong communication skills for working effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders
- Experience working with residents who have Alzheimer's or other memory-related conditions
- Capable of multitasking in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
- Compassionate attitude combined with patience, empathy, and excellent caregiving skills
