Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; report any concerns promptly
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning patient areas and laundry
- Observe and document changes in residents’ conditions or behaviors, especially related to dementia or memory care needs
- Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s
to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, home health, or hospice care is highly desirable
- Proven background in patient observation, monitoring vital signs, and implementing care plans
- Familiarity with working with people with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or dementia-related conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease is preferred
- Knowledge of CPR and First Aid certifications to respond effectively during emergencies
- Experience with medication administration and understanding HIPAA compliance ensures safe and confidential care
- Hands-on experience using assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or resident transfer equipment is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work compassionately with seniors or individuals with disabilities in community or home settings
