Planner

The EADS Group is seeking a full-time PLANNER to join our multi-disciplined engineering firm! The position may be based out of any of the following EADS Group Pennsylvania offices: Altoona, Clarion, Johnstown, Lewistown, New Brighton, North Huntingdon, or Somerset.

YOUR NEW ROLE AS OUR PLANNER

In this full-time planner role, you benefit from a flexible 5-day work schedule with hybrid work options.

Starting the day as a Planner, you will have an immediate and substantial impact on the organization with your work knowledge and experience. From rural to urban areas, you will be taking the lead on planning projects, supporting inter-department municipal projects, and will work closely with management on complex proposals. Throughout the day, you will provide project and program management to clients including development of comprehensive plans, neighborhood plans, corridor studies, active transportation plans, recreation plans, and zoning ordinances. You will perform a central role in client interaction during planning projects including attendance at steering committee meetings, community engagement events, and other types of public meetings. Conducting online meetings and attendance at evening meetings is expected. By day's end, you've successfully coordinated inter-departmental planning projects and played a key role in generating additional work for the organization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR OUR PLANNER

• Bachelor's degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Public Administration, or a related field
• A minimum 3 years of experience preparing comprehensive plans and working with community groups and local governments
• Knowledge of planning, local laws, ordinances, and codes including the PA Municipalities Planning Code
• Experience with grant writing and the willingness to attend meetings and planning sessions outside of normal business hours
• Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS software, PDF's, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and with online meeting platforms
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• AICP Certification is also highly preferred
