- Wage: $26.00 per hour
- Schedule: Monday- Friday: 9AM-5PM
- Location: 120-34 Queens Blvd, Suite 410 in Kew Gardens NY
What drives the core purpose of this job:
The DBT Case Manager will utilize independent discretion and judgment to provide screening, treatment planning, case management, and individual therapy to eligible clients.
What are the key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual based components of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy via weekly sessions and participate in group facilitation as needed,
- Provide emergency and crisis intervention to high risk clients in our mental health track for treatment related, treatment interfering, and treatment destroying behaviors including suicidal crises.
- Provide as needed coaching and crisis intervention to clients in need or provide coordination for clients to obtain needed support via community providers.
- Review clinical assessments, formulate treatment plans, and problem solve for clients; evaluate clients for chemical dependency issues; assess changes in the client’s condition/ treatment needs.
- Identify service resources; maintain active communication with service providers for care coordination and advocacy needs of the client.
- Maintain a caseload of clients and monitor their participation in the treatment program through case management appointments, reviewing progress reports, and participating in DBT facilitation group meetings with project staff.
- Act as a liaison to the courts, treatment facilities, and correctional facilities as needed. Provide screening services and related services for complex cases within the judicial system to ascertain appropriate treatment as an alternative to incarceration.
- Maintain case documentation available for review by supervision at any time, i.e. client records, progress notes, and all other relevant information to comply with program requirements.
- Prepare and present written and oral status reports to the criminal justice system in a timely manner regarding client’s progress.
- Perform all other relevant duties as determined by Supervision and EAC NETWORK Administration.
What key knowledge, skills, and abilities are required to excel in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in (criminal justice, social work, counseling, forensic psychology, psychology, sociology, or criminology) required or Master’s degree in same fields preferred.
- Previous experience and/or, training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) required.
- Good communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to work cooperatively with treatment and criminal justice systems.
- Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, and email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.
- Utilize the educational training, skills and experience obtained from advanced degree to provide appropriate professional services, techniques and strategies for clients.
