What are the responsibilities and job description for the ADR Specialist (Family Court Service) - Long Island Dispute Resolution Center position at EAC Network?
- Provide daily in-court coverage in Suffolk County Family Court
- Conduct intake and screening of parties for mediation appropriateness
- Explain mediation and other ADR processes to litigants
- Coordinate and schedule mediations with staff and volunteer mediators
- Facilitate and host in-person and virtual mediation hearings
- Prepare and submit required court documentation and disposition reports
- Maintain regular communication with court clerks, judges, and court administrators
- Share responsibility for Matrimonial Court ADR services as assigned
Program Support and Development:
- Support specialized mediation initiatives and apprenticeship programming
- Participate in program development and service coordination activities
- Assist with training and orientation of new staff and volunteers as assigned
- Participate in outreach and court coordination meetings
- Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and required trainings
General Program Responsibilities:
- Maintain confidential case files and documentation
- Enter case data into Caseload Manager
- Participate in staff meetings and training activities
- Assist with outreach and public education efforts
- Perform other ADR duties as assigned
- Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree in conflict resolution, human services, criminal justice, or related field
- Certified mediator or eligible for certification
- Experience working in court-based Family or community mediation programs preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and data management skills
- Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, database systems, and virtual platforms (Zoom,Webex, Teams)
- Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation
